In the game, you are a Jedi student, eager to learn the ways of the Force from a Master. You can customise your character’s look and gender before entering the Academy to start your journey. The game features six online multiplayer modes: siege, capture the flag, and free for all. It also has an extensive single-player campaign.

After ploughing through a few infuriating planets armed with blaster rifles, thermal detonators, rocket launchers, and vaporising sniper rifles, you encounter Desann, the Sith serpent. He tosses you around a landing pad, Force chokes you to near death and then captures Jan Ors.

Using the power of the Force, you must battle the Sith to rescue Jan and defeat the antagonist, Desann. As the game progresses, you’ll unlock more powerful stances and combos that will help you to take down your opponents. You can even customise the hilt of your sabre to make it unique to you.

The gameplay is simple but profound. You can play as a Jedi Consular, a Shadow, or a Combat Sentinel. Each has its fighting style and unique Saber Force online powers you can use in battle.

While the Combat Sentinel uses a barrage of lightsaber strikes and Force abilities, the Shadow specialises in stealth and close-range damage. They also use a combination of Force and melee attacks to disable their enemies.

The Soresu Form is the most defensive of all the Lightsaber forms. While this Form provides few attacking strikes, it focuses on defending the user from bladed and ranged attacks by parries, deflections, and ripostes. Typically, a Soresu adherent will attempt to hold off their opponent until the enemy begins to tire out, gets sloppy, or presents them with a glaring opening. Then they can unleash a flurry of strikes and a devastating kinetic burst.
